About Me



I am an Associate Professor of Industrial and Manufacturing Engineering at School of Engineering, Mathematics and Science of Robert Morris University (RMU) in Pennsylvania. 

I am a Visiting Faculty at Argonne National Laboratory (Host: Dr. Feng Qiu) performing the Energy Network Partition project supported by the 2020 Summer Visiting Faculty Program (VFP) of the US Department of Energy (DOE). I have been a Visiting Scholar to Kellogg School of Management at Northwestern University (Host: Dr. Sunil Chopra) since Fall 2015. 


Before I joined RMU in Fall 2015, I had performed research projects on combinatorial optimization as a research staff member of Kellogg School of Management at Northwestern University under supervisory of Sunil ChopraI also performed the General Motors Renewable Energy Portfolio project with Industrial Engineering and Management Sciences Department of Northwestern University since 2011. At Northwestern University and Georgia Institute of Technology, I also conducted the KT (Korea Telecom CorpSmart Grid Project and the KT-LG Illinois Smart Building Project as Manager of KT in 2010-2011.

I was an Instructor at Georgia Institute of Technology in 2009-2010 since my PhD degree in Industrial and Systems Engineering (Major: Optimization, Advisor: Ellis L. Johnson; Grand Advisor: George B. Dantzig) from the institute. 

Before I came to the US, I got BS in Mathematics at Seoul National University and MS in Computational Mathematics at POSTECH in Korea.
